Junior Bible Quiz
Welcome to the exciting
world of Bible Quiz. Here at The Oaks Fellowship, we are
serious about getting our children to learn Scripture.
The nationwide Junior Bible Quiz program is one of the
greatest ways for kids to have fun and be challenged while
hiding God’s word in their hearts.
What is Junior Bible Quiz?
Elementary
school age students study and learn the 576 questions
in the Bible Fact-Pak. The questions are divided into
three groups according their difficulty. For example,
One of the
10-point questions is:
QUESTION:
How many books are there in the Bible?
ANSWER:
66
While one
of the 30-point questions is:
QUOTATION
QUESTION: Quote the two verses of First Thessalonians
in which Paul describes the rapture of the Church.
ANSWER:
1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17 For the Lord himself
will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with
the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of
God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that,
we who are still alive and are left will be caught up
together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the
air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
After preparations,
the kids then go to competitions where they compete as
teams against kids from other churches. If they win, their
team can advance into the playoffs where they compete
with teams from across the nation.
Not only
can children compete, they can earn individual awards
by being tested over their knowledge of the Bible Fact-Pak
material. The Bible Master Award is earned by those who
have memorized all of the answers which include over 100
Scripture verses that have to be quoted perfectly.
Studies show
that approximately 90% of the kids who successfully go
through the Junior Bible Quiz program remain viable Christians
for the rest of their lives. There is nothing like Junior
Bible Quiz to take God’s Living Word and blend it
into children’s hearts and minds.
How
JBQ works at The Oaks Fellowship
JBQ is a
family adventure. Parents work with their kids during
the week to learn the material and then come to their
9:00 a.m. Sunday School class to practice with their team.
Coaches are made up of the parents of the quizzers. When
we go to competitions, parents serve as judges, time keepers,
and quiz masters. Other incentives for the kids can include
earning Bible Bucks that are good for purchases of toys
and other cool stuff; and free trips to play laser tag
or to amusement parks.
How
to get involved
Visit the
Resource Center where you can get more information about
where and when to get plugged into JBQ, or call the Children’s
Ministry Department at the church office.
